Per realizzare la testa del violino occorrono in media 18 ore di lavoro e grande manualità, cambiando le dimensioni della sgorbia, man mano che il riccio inizia a prendere forma, mantenendo un graduale aumento di spessore, per poi rifinire il lavoro con il coltello, i raschietti ed infine con la carta vetrata, definendo così il modello. Si pensa spesso che, lo smusso che circonda il riccio del violino sia superfluo, ma in realtà rappresenta la caratteristica identificativa di ogni strumento, determinando lo stile di ciascun Liutaio 🎻.
